Earlier in 1986, the education policy was implemented. In 1992, some amendments were made to this policy. That is, a new education policy is being implemented in the country after 34 years. It was drafted by a committee of experts headed by former ISRO chief K Kasturirangan, which was approved by the cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
Many new changes have been made in the new education policy, from school education to higher education.





The Cabinet has approved the New Education Policy 2020. Education policy has been changed after 34 years. HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' said that this policy will pave an important path.






This will prove to be a milestone in the construction of new India. Opinions on this policy have been taken from every corner of the country and the opinions of all sections of people have been included in it. For the first time in the history of the country, it has happened that everyone's opinion has been taken on such a large level.




The Modi government of the Center has approved the new education policy. With this, the Ministry of Human Resource Development has been renamed as Ministry of Education. Under the new education policy, the format of 10 + 2 has been completely abolished, understand this.





Now it is divided into 10 + 2 and 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 format. This means that now the first five years of school will include three years of pre-primary school and foundation stage including class 1 and class 2. Then the next three years will be divided into the preparation phase of classes 3 to 5.





After this, three years of middle stage (classes 6 to 8) and four years of secondary stage (classes 9 to 12). Apart from this, there will be no strict adherence to arts, commerce, science stream in schools, students can take whatever courses they want now.





The new education policy will include music, philosophy, art, dance, theater, education courses of higher institutions. The bachelor's degree will be of 3 or 4 years duration. Academy Bank of Credit will be formed, digital record of students' performance will be collected.





By 2050, at least 50 percent of the learners will have to be involved in vocational education through the school and higher education system. A new national research institute will be formed for quality qualification research, it will be related to all the universities of the country.Under the new education policy, now students up to 5th will be taught in mother tongue, local language and national language only.



The rest of the subjects, even if they are English, will be taught as a subject. Examination will be done in the semester from 9th to 12th class. Schooling will be taught under the 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 formula. At the same time, college degree will be 3 and 4 years old. That is, certificate will be given on first year of graduation, diploma on second year, degree in third year.




Same rules will be there for all government, private, deemed institutions
Higher education secretary Amit Khare said, 'Technology and online education have been emphasized in the new reforms. Right now we have different rules for deemed universities, central universities and standalone institutions. The rules will be the same for all under the new education policy.
